Consult not your Fears....

"Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do. "-Pope John XXIII

This has been on my mind a lot lately. Many of my friends have been going through a hard time recently. (Teen angst and all that.) And it got me thinking. When something unfortunate happens in you life, is it better to look at what has gone wrong or at what we can do in the future. For if we do not think of our frustrations, but rather our unfulfilled potential, what can go wrong. Yes, we do need to look at our mistakes, our wrongdoings, and the bad things that have happened. But if we become fixated on these things, then we lose sight of our hopes and dreams. So maybe I should get this printed on a card. That way, whenever someone I meet is spending just a little too much time thinking about what they have tried and failed in, maybe they will remember what is still possible to do.

unfulfilled |ˌənfoŏ(l)ˈfild|

Thanksgiving

"Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action." W.J. Cameron

This is something we tend not to remember, but thanksgiving is, after all, a verb. But what do we really do to give thanks. Yes, we sit around a table with our family and eat a meal. Yes, we may say what we are thankful for. But how can we actually give thanks. That is something that I find I have trouble with. So as I sit around the day after Thanksgiving, still full from my meal yesterday, I think; What am I truly thankful for? How can I give my thanks in a better, more productive way? Well...?

thanksgiving |ˌθa ng ksˈgivi ng |

Here We Are Again

Well I haven't posted anything in a while, but hopefully I will be putting some new things up soon. So for now, I leave you with a quote;

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies
Mother Theresa
